The Safe Digital Input Module SDI-1624 features sixteen 24 V DC digital input channels. Its input stage is designed with a 'fail-to-safe' mechanism, meaning any component failure results in a de-energized input signal to the processor, which represents the safe condition in systems that are normally energized.


The module's remaining logic circuitry is fully monitored by the system’s self-test functions. During the configured Diagnostic Test Interval, the module is tested for:

1.Ability to receive logic level ‘0’ signals
2.Ability to receive logic level ‘1’ signals
3.Crosstalk between inputs


The 24 V DC output pin is a current-limited output, intended to energize redundant inputs via a field contact. Additionally, the SDI-1624 can be used in non-hazardous areas for non-incendiary field circuits in Division 2 locations, meeting FM 3611 compliance (Class I, Division 2, Groups ABCD; Class II, Division 2, Groups FG).
