Important Usage Guidelines

Bussed Field Power	Must not be connected to a supply with a potential exceeding 30 VDC.
Removal and Insertion	Field power, whether supplied at the terminal or as bussed field power through the I/O carrier, must be turned off before removing or connecting the device.
De-energizing Requirements	Power must be turned off before disconnecting any carriers or LocalBus Extender cables.
Unoccupied Locations	A module cover (KJ4001X1-FA1) must be installed on any permanently unoccupied location on an I/O module carrier (where no I/O module or terminal block is intended).
